Working From Home Cool No More

Working from home is not for everyone. It can be isolating, and it can be hard to stay focused when there are too many distractions at home. To combat this, I go to a coworking space in the city once a day. I always take my laptop with me so that if I need to do any work, I’m able to. But going out of the house gets me away from the noise and distractions of home, while still giving me the opportunity to get things done if needed.

One of the burnout inducing factors in working from home is noise. Although I love listening to music, sometimes I also need to block out noise to get work done. Sometimes it gets difficult when there are other people in the house and they’re talking all the time. Working from home can burn you out really fast if you don’t take proper precautions.

It is difficult to concentrate when other people are in my house since I am always hearing their conversations. Working from home can quickly wear you out if you don’t take appropriate measures.

Working from home offers the opportunity to do remote work such as working as a freelancer. It does not, however, offer the opportunity to collaborate with other people on projects and it is not suitable for heavy factory or stressful work. Working from home can be great for those who need to create their own schedule and work independently.

Networking and social interaction is another factor. One can meet new people at work through various interactions. These people can be mentors, partners or even anything you might need to get your idea off the ground. Networking allows finding new clients who are interested in what you are doing. It also provides more opportunities for collaborations with other people on projects which helps increase the productivity of the teams at work. Though it does pose some threats to one’s privacy, it is largely not a concern for most remote workers.

The key post the COVID-19 lockdowns is affordability. This is where the ingenuity of COVID partners, sponsors and supporters has come in handy. While it’s been hard to find agencies paying their freelancers for work, agencies are running low on funds due to the lockdowns. To be able to pay freelancers, companies has teamed up with cafes that offer affordable prices with the use of wifi, coffee, tea and community events that promote a chance to chill. The chance to chill would especially help those feeling stressed out from the recent news.
